Ashley McDowell is an attorney with broad experience in all phases of litigation including investigations, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, trials, and appeals.
Ashley joined GGU after serving as a career law clerk for the Honorable Richard A. Jones of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. Before clerking for Judge Jones, Ashley served as an Assistant Attorney General in Washington State, where she enforced state and federal civil rights and consumer protection laws. Ashley began her legal career clerking for Justice Ellen Gesmer of the New York State Supreme Court, New York County. At the close of her two-year state court clerkship, she joined the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia, where she served as a Senior Staff Attorney and represented clients in bench trials and at hearings in all levels of the District of Columbia’s court system.
Ashley received her law degree from Yale Law School in 2009 where she served as an editor on the Yale Journal of Law and Feminism, and she was a Yale University Teaching Assistant for Courses in Urban and African Studies. Ashley received her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, in Political Science from the University of South Carolina in 2006.
Ashley is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, the State of New York, the State of Washington and is pending in the State of Illinois.
